Subjects alai helps with
alai is a notes app for iPad and the web with Ally, an adaptive AI tutor that follows your work and asks a question about the step that went wrong, so you can fix it yourself.
How Ally helps
In Homework help, Ally reads your page about two seconds after you lift your pencil. In algebra, physics and chemistry, when a line doesn't follow from the one before, Ally highlights it and asks about it in a short sentence. When everything follows, Ally stays quiet.
You can also hold the talk button and ask a question out loud, and Ally answers by voice. In calculus, that's how to get help: ask about the step you're unsure of, and Ally asks a question about the piece you're missing.
Learn, where Ally teaches a short lesson and then gives you practice problems to write out, covers math, physics and chemistry, and has Spanish lessons on present-tense verbs.

- Algebraalai reads the algebra you write by hand on iPad and asks one short question about the first step that doesn't follow, so you can fix it yourself.
- CalculusWrite derivatives, integrals and limits by hand in alai on iPad, ask Ally about a step out loud, and get a question about the piece you're missing.
- PhysicsWork physics problems by hand in alai on iPad, from F = ma to unit conversions, and Ally asks one short question about the step that went wrong.
